Overview
AET offers a base model CNC machine with a 900mmx500mmx120mm machining envelope, which is scalable to any size the customer may require. Some examples are shown in the graphic below. The CNC machine is arranged in a 'gantry' configuration. Each of the three axes is driven by a precision helical gearbox and rack and pinion combination, This allows for precise 3D control of a machine tool for manufacturing of complex components from raw materials. The machine design has been focused on developing economies, small industry, educational facilities, new startup businesses and private individuals or hobbyists. The overall vision is to bring about a dramatic reduction in capital cost compared to commercially available CNC milling machines whilst retaining key functionality. The cost reduction achieved is significant enough to allow users the opportunity to develop their own concepts and ideas instead of spending large amounts of valuable startup capital on outsourcing. The base model AET9512-R machine is compact enough to fit on a desktop next to a PC, or even in a garage or shed. This is an invaluable tool, reducing both cost and time to market for concepts and products, as well as reducing equipment and operating costs for small manufacturers.
A basic overview of the system components required for a CNC installation is outlined below:
Our AET9512-R machine has an accuracy of 0.05mm and allows for carving, profiling, cutting, engraving, pocketing and drilling. Materials which can be machined are, but not limited to: wood, soft rock, plastics and resins, modelling clay, machining wax, brass, aluminium and other non-ferrous metals. This allows for manufacture of an extensive range of components, including, but also not limited to:
